Our Story

Apostolic Faith Tabernacle began on November 30th 1972 when two ladies, Sister Mildred Harper and Sister Dale Dobyns joined efforts to start the church. The first service was held in a residence and God began to bless. After a period of time Sister Harper became the sole pastor and oversaw the progress of the church during the acquisition of property and building the first permanent structure on Amity Road, of Pearcy, Arkansas. She remained pastor until May 1, 1984. The church elected Reverend Ted Danes as pastor June 14, 1984 and he served until October 17, 1985.

On November 21, 1985. Reverend Dennis Anderson was elected as pastor. In 1990 approximately 9 acres of land were purchased along highway 70 West at the address of 3217 Airport Road. Subsequently a new facility was constructed and the congregation relocated to their new address on July 3, 1994. Since that time God has continued to bless with growth in the congregation as well as expansion and additional accommodations of the church campus.

In 2022, after serving in other roles for numerous years, Pastor Will Culberson was elected to serve as Senior Pastor. On September 28, 2025 Apostolic Faith Tabernacle became known as Refuge Church. For decades people have found refuge, healing, restoration, and new beginnings here.

We want the community to know this is a REFUGE FOR ALL PEOPLE.

A safe place where together we will love, grow, serve, and bring the gospel of Jesus Christ to the world! Pastor Culberson shared vision for future to renovate and expand our campus to expand our reach to the community and beyond!
